About Whitney Wang

Whitney Wang is a visual communicator artist and illustrator based in London.

She is excited to explore and discover the combination of all the different elements and materials, and always focus on hand drawing and crafting.

 

Observing from daily life, all of those fascinating details would be deconstructed and recombined in her works. In the same time, recording her feelings in poetry and words is also an important way of creating, which are then translated into visual expressions.

She's passionate about minorities and religious backgrounds, and hopes these thoughts will resonate with the audience.

Majored in Illustration, I developed theoretical and methodological approaches, practiced in research and critical reflective thinking. I organised workshop—think through making, open to BA and MA students. My works focus on the research of minority rights, including illustrations, installations, ceramics, and personal publications.

Tenba Rabten School of Tibetan Thangka Art   

Trainee

Honed in Tibetan Thangka. (Thangka is a kind of traditional Tibetan Buddhist mural). I learned traditional mural production skills, painting techniques and mural art history. My works include White Tara and Manjusri Bodhisattva.
